Monday 19th July 2021

If yesterday was hot, today was hotter.

I had a lot I wanted to get done today but I wilt in the heat and as such restricted myself to tasks that didn’t need a lot of brain power.

I’m getting close to having the backlog of The Climb done.  I’ll be pleased to get this done.  It’s been a lot of work, and I’ll be happy to free up that time.

I also did my Warcraft dailies as well as the campaign quest on one of my mains that I never got round to last Wednesday.  I’ll admit that part of my motivation was so I could grab some screenshots for The Climb as the backlog has reached my recent WoWcation.

I also managed to get a mythic dungeon in last night, which was good as I got a new piece of gear.  I seem to do well in mythics, and I really need to find the time to start doing more of them.

However, my plan is to make a big push on The Accursed once the backlog is done.  I also have some work that’s now getting urgent as it’s been with me for a while.  That needs a bit of concentration and I’d hoped to get it done today had it not been so hot.

And between all this I’ve been watching The Race To World First.  This is where the top Warcraft guilds in the world try and take down the new raid on mythic difficulty.  Our guild is up to 6/10 on Normal difficulty and this is two levels higher.  A number of them have now reached the final boss and there was a twist as Sylvanas – the final boss fight – apparently ends when she reaches 50% health.  Except it doesn’t on mythic.  So all these guilds were pushing everything to get her to 50% health… they get there and she’s still alive.

So now, after throwing everything at her, they need to find another 5%.  It’s made for a very exciting fight, and it’s fun to watch.

It’s supposed to be hot again tomorrow, so I’ll be trying to get The Climb finished and then get a bit of writing done.  Maybe Sylvanas will go down as well but I can’t spend all day watching streams.

One thing is for certain though… in this heat, I’m not going outside unless I absolutely have to.
