This is day 3 of my Warcraft mini-break.  Today, I worked on my alts, trying to find some rhythm to the weekly grind.

I need to do dailies in order to get the weekly renown quest done, which currently requires you to do a lot more than the weeklies took in 9.0.  Back then I could get them all done in about 30 minutes each.  1 Renown from the save souls, and one from the world boss.  I’d leave the weekly 100 anima quest to fill up over several weeks.  They are alts, after all.  I’m not trying to main them.  So if they take a few extra weeks to reach max renown, I’m not too bothered.

But at the moment, I’m playing them like I’m trying to main them all.  Trying to figure out what to do with them to keep them ticking along is what I’m currently trying to figure out.

Today was very much about getting them through world quests.  I skipped one that was bugged and taking too long, but I did the others.  Even then, it took me all day to do all the alts, and that wasn’t enough to fill up the weekly bar.

I’ve also been doing the Tormentors of Torghast event.  This is an event that happens every two hours.  It has a chance to drop a mount, and I’m keen to do this while everything is new and there are a load of players.

And I guess, that’s the reason for me going hard on my alts right now.  They are massively underpowered for the zone and they are getting some great catch up gear, but I’m very reliant on a big crowd being at events and dailies so I can get them done.

On one kill quest, I ended up following other players around, tagging whatever they were killing.  It’s basic and it took time but I got every alt through there.

With all my alts sitting around the 140-150 ilevel, I’m keen to get them all closer to 200.  Once I get flying next week, I may start doing some world quests for gear.  It’s not the biggest priority, but I need to get Archivist’s Codex unlocked on them all and whilst I’d hoped to get it done today, I ended up really struggling as a lot of players have moved on from those opening quests.

That’s the plan for the weekend.  I want to get all my alts’ reputation unlocked so they can at least turn in the rep that’s starting to take up their bags.  After that, I’m less bothered, although I may prioritise those that need the rewards from later levels.

I’m hoping that by end of Monday, I’ll be a little burnt out by the patch.  This burst of activity is really to get all my alts properly set up in the first week and have a plan going forwards.  Currently I don’t have either, but then I like to remind myself I didn’t have all my alts to max level and professions maxed until last week and that was 7 months into the patch cycle.

What I am excited about is that there seems to be plenty of opportunity in 9.1. to dip into content.  That works for me and is usually a great way to pair it with my writing when I want to be super-productive.
