Tuesday 13th July 2021

The vast majority of today was spent posting backdated editions of The Climb.  It’s one of those things where I need to swap between periods of basic data filling – to add stats for words written each day and assign them to the relevant categories and writing projects – and editing (however brief).

It means I’ve not been able to do this whilst watching Youtube or listening to an audiobook, as for the editing part I need to concentrate and words will just confuse me.  So I’ve spent most of the day with a big huge instrumental playlist on Spotify and have been grinding my way through.

I’m almost through May now so the end does seem in sight.  I had initially thought when starting this that it would have been depressive and I’d come away from it feeling how unproductive I was.  Instead, editing the edition whilst simultaneously seeing the word counts for the day has left me seeing it as better than expected.

There are still some days when I think:  “seriously, you couldn’t have got 500 words out?”  But then to be fair, I think thought that about today.

That said, I’m impressed how the projects slowly come to completion, even if their progress is unsteady.  To see where I was on The Accursed 2 months ago compared to now.  I forget that whilst I started it in April, a lot of that was pre-writing and I then went on to do a few other projects.

So instead of depressing me, it’s actually put me in a good mood.  I HAVE got a lot done over the last few months.  I just need to do more!

And because writing and Warcraft seem to go hand in hand at the moment, I got some good news there as well today.  We were supposed to have a night doing mythics, and I’d cleared time to be able to play this evening.  Then no-one showed and the usual groups appeared to do their own thing.  After starting to watch the Race for World first, I saw a Demon Hunter doing a slightly different method and I decided to try it.

Maybe it was that, maybe it was my gear, but I did a LOT of DPS.  When the Shadow Priest starts buffing you, you know you are doing good.  We did a run of Torghast and a mythic (although nto the new dungeon) and I think by the end of it, they were glad I’d come along.  Hopefully that will pave the way for more invites.

It’s reset tomorrow and I was supposed to be doing some social media work for the Race to World first, but I’ve had no details yet, so I guess I’ll have time to do my weeklies with the reset tomorrow, and still have time to get another batch of past editions of The Climb uploaded.
