Wednesday 14th July 2021

In recent months I’ve been using Warcraft Wednesday to farm renown for my alts.  But with the arrival of patch 9.1, these activities take a little more time and as such I’m focusing only on my mains.  That’s OK, there will be time once they reach renown 80 to go back and use catch up mechanisms to level them up as well.  My aim for 9.2 is to have all alts to renown 80

But for now the focus is only on my two mains.  I’m doing dailies on both of them as well as the weekly quests and that’s taking up most of my time.  I do wonder if I should maybe try and find time for my crafting alts due to the repetition locks on some legendary crafting, but I really don’t know if I could find the time if I wanted.

We’re now in full-on grind phase, where I’m trying to get all reps to max.  I suppose once this is done, even if there’s weekly renown stuff to do, I can stop dailies and select a new batch of characters.

I’m trying very hard with both my characters to make sure I don’t miss any opportunities.  I seem to have gone into this patch with some decent DPS and I need to capitalise on that by ensuring I stay ahead of the curve.  That means if a weekly gives a good bit of loot, I should do it.  It means doing an assault.  It means making sure I farm soul ash in Torghast each week.

It’s lots of little work and now the initial rush of the patch is over and we’re into grind phase, it’s things I spread across the whole week.

I’m still enjoying Warcraft but I’m definitely back to dipping in and out phase rather than the playing all day phase… but that’s why I have wowcations.

It meant that whilst I’ve still yet to do the campaign quest on one of my mains, I spent part of the day posting more of The Climb backlog.  I’m into June now but there’s still a load to do.  I’d like to get up to date by Friday as it’s Pokemon Go Fest this weekend and so I’ll not be doing anything else from then.

Even so, I do think I’m missing out on the current good weather.  The problem in posting those backlogs, much like Warcraft on those opening weeks following a new patch… I sit at my desk for hours.   I need to be more active, whilst still finding time for everything I need to do sat at the computer.

Tomorrow is supposed to be overcast, which means I won’t burn in 5 minutes flat, so I might take myself off geocaching again.  I’ll ache for a day or two afterwards, and it’s no substitute for regular exercise (I can’t wait for it to feel safe to go back to a gym) but it’s something.

The campaign on my other alt can wait, but I suspect with the list of things I need to do… Monday or Tuesday could end up being relatively Warcraft heavy.
