Saturday 19th June 2021
Today I managed another 4000 words. I’m not sure they were great words, but they were words nonetheless, and as a result the day has been a success.
Admittedly it was a bit of a battle to get the words done, but squeezing in an extra session before heading to the Support Bubble sofa meant I got an extra 1000 words done I wouldn’t have had otherwise.
I’m still not sure what happened yesterday, but the glumness appears to be gone and I’ve continued to slog on with the novel.
I am aware that there’s the potential for a LOT of disruption in the coming days. Tomorrow is our Pokemon Go PvP tournament, which will eat my afternoon and a good chunk of my writing sessions. I’ve got a Warcraft raid in the evening and so I can’t even make it up then. I put a good hour trying to work out a team for tomorrow. Whilst I like the idea of different types of restrictions for tournaments, this one has been a nightmare and it all feels a little too complicated now. I ran out of Stardust before I could power everything up, let alone give them second moves. As a result, I’m going to do terrible tomorrow.
Monday C has a thing at Midday, which already collides with a delivery I’m expecting. If I go, I’m going to lose my afternoon, and another chunk of writing time. Tuesday I have my second jab, which whilst good, and possibly not disruptive, could see me feel rough for a couple of days. And, of course, Wednesday is Warcraft Wednesday. And given it’s the final week before 9.1 hits, things could be busy on the Warcraft front.
Now, if I’d stuck to my rough plan and got the book done for the end of June… I could have had 9.1 waiting for me when I finish. But no, because I’m an idiot who cannot set soft deadlines for himself.
With 9.1 on the horizon, I’m finding myself dipping into Warcraft a bit more than recent weeks. Most of my gameplay has been on Wednesday’s but I spent a lot of time doing professions and leveling the remaining alts. My plan was to have all professions maxed and all alts to 60. I have some work to do on professions, but I think I have all the mats scattered around between them. I focused on cooking tonight, and got my cooking alt maxed. I then proceeded to work on their fishing, which was boring and the perfect task for the support bubble sofa.
And then tonight, after coming home, I finally got the Pandaria Warlock tome to drop and have started on the green fire quests. I’ve been after that for years and to finally get it has been a bit of a buzz and had me playing until later than I wanted.
I need to be up early for at least the next few days and try and get a couple of sessions done the mornings. At least I have a clear idea on the next few scenes.
