I’m giving myself a week off.
I had made plans to start to introduce a bit more structure to my writing when I took leave the week after next. As that date has loomed there’s more and more that I want to do in that time, to the point where I doubt I have time to do everything.
Part of me longs for super-productivity, and whilst I do think I can be a lot more productive, I still don’t believe that at my most optimum would I be able to get everything I wanted done in a day.
So I’m giving myself some breathing space.
I’m going to spend a week playing Warcraft and leveling alts, and use that as a way to take a break so that I can come back to it in just over a week with a clearer view of what the priorities are and what needs to be done.
I’ve flitted a lot this year… starting and swapping projects a lot. To be fair, the pandemic has been a bit disconcerting and I’m proud that amongst all this to-ing and fro-ing I’ve managed to get a lot of important stuff done. And some of the changes and delays have not been my fault.
But I’d like to have a clearer view of the next couple of months. And you know… actually start and complete a couple of projects.
But that means pushing some things into 2021. That’s OK, so long as the things I do commit to for the last part of 2020 do get the focus and work.
Which, is why I’m going to give myself a break with the deliberate view of working out what I want to work on and coming up with a plan I can… you know… stick to.
I’d like to put the flitting that’s characterised this pandemic behind me, and start working on some concrete plans. Stuff has managed to get done, but going forward I’d like to get it done more efficiently.
