I’ve started to level an alliance character through BFA in World of Warcraft.

Back at the beginning of WOD my old guild decided to migrate servers.  As we were all after a change we decided that it would be perfect time to swap to alliance.  I was a bit too fond of my Death Knight Tauren main to character and race transfer them, and so instead leveled a fresh Worgen Death Knight.

We all drifted onto other games and so I went back to my Tauren on the old server which is where I’ve predominantly played ever since.  I have leveled my alliance alt though, but I’ve yet to take them through BFA.  And with Shadowlands coming and the idea of gold making across a number of servers, it feels like now is a good time to take them to 120.

Beside, BFA has very separate storylines for Alliance and Horde, and I’ve yet to experience the Alliance storyline.

So I did the pre-quests and took them off to Kul Tiras.

I’m taking it relatively slow.  I could use something like Azeroth Autopilot and plough through the quests, but I do actually want to experience the story.  I’ve even used ground mounts as I’d forgot I’d unlocked account wide flying.

As much as I hate to admit it, you do get to appreciate more of the environments when you are on foot.  Even venturing into the wider zone – areas I’ve been with my horde characters – there’s a different feel.  Areas that my horde would just be running into a load of trouble are now my quest hubs.

And whilst I’m a horde player through and through, I have to say that the Alliance story, worldbuilding and just general design seems so much better than the Horde’s.  Maybe that’s because I’ve never been a big fan of the trolls.  Boralus has the feel of Suramar, and I just wish the horde got a big city like this.  Zandalar is big and spread out but it doesn’t feel like a city like this does.

I’m still feeling run down from this cold enough to be unable to concentrate for too long, and with Xbox games and Fortnite to also keep me busy, I’m finding I’m only playing in short bursts.  But that’s how I often like to play Warcraft.

No use burning myself out before Shadowlands.
