I have just a few more days until I’m back at the day job. It’s always at this stage I start to look at my list of tasks and chastise myself for everything that didn’t get done.
However, I did actually manage to get quite a bit done on this staycation. The draft got finished and sent off for feedback. I glued a few more Shadows of Brimstone models. I played some Warcraft. I even mowed the garden.
But in these last few days, I’ve very much been chilling by playing some World of Warcraft. I haven’t been playing my main but have instead been doing things on my alt.
There’s part of me that feels the Longboi is now impossible. I’ve tried to level up professions but it’s time consuming and difficult and whilst I’ve made progress, this feels like something I should have done a year ago or more.
Instead I feel I can only do as much on legacy professions as I can so I’m ready come next expansion. I usually say this most expansions.
I could make a way towards it if I just did Draenor raid runs on all my characters but that feels beyond work and into serious grind territory. Still… I might.
But instead, I’m actually doing content on a different character with different professions and enjoying the change.
Like so many things, success is the result of constantly chipping away at goals, and that’s something I’m terrible at in World of Warcraft. Or if not terrible, then I’m not productive in doing it.
But being organised and regimented takes a lot of the fun out the game, and I have to question whether giving up every element of my spare time for the next 4 or 5 months is really worth it.
A friend joked that if I bought gold through buying WoW Tokens it would only cost me £476. I have to be honest and say if I won the lottery, I might just be tempted.
