Shadowlands Prep – The Climb #561

I’m almost resolved that there’s no way I will get the Brontosaur mount in World of Warcraft before Shadowlands. I’m 3 million short and given my servers economy I doubt there’s any practical way of accomplishing it.

There’s a chance it will appear in the black market auction house in the future, but if it does it will be far more than the current 5 million asking price. And as much as I tell myself that this expansion I’ll finally become a master gold maker and be able to afford it… the fact is that I can’t really devote enough time to Warcraft to practically do this.

I even looked how much it would be to buy one with real money… but it’s around £450 and even if I was rich I think that’s a bit much for a digital asset.

I’m sure I’ll get over it. I keep telling myself that with the hope that it might come true.

I have told myself that I want to be a bit better in the early stages of Shadowlands. I normally take time off from the day job and spend 2 weeks playing it, but this is normally combined with edits and redrafts so a lot of that week (beyond the initial leveling of my main) is spent writing.

I’m not sure that I have the stamina to level all my max level alts during those initial weeks.

One thing I might do is put some time in during pre-patch and get all my low level alts to the new revised cap of 50. Usually gear drops to bring them up to equivalent to mythic so it might be a good chance to enter Shadowlands with everything maxed.

I have heard that a good plan now is to start getting some of the low level professions. I’ve been doing some work with my leatherworker, but in reality I should spend the next few weeks on my tailor and blacksmith as well.

Theoretically I want to enter Shadowlands such that on launch I not only level a bunch of characters but that I then get their professions up so I can make money at the start of the expansion. However I doubt, even if I play quite extensively in those first few weeks that I’ll be able to level everything up.

We’ll see. I should by rights be working on those low level professions as well as some of the reps currently boosted, but instead I’m playing Fortnite.

At least I’m on course to get all the skins there, unlike the brontosaur in Warcraft.
