Monday 8th June 2020

I’m still ridiculously tired and I can’t figure out why.

I had my alarm set for 8:15am this morning and I woke naturally a minute or two before.  That’s usually a sign my sleep is on point.  My body clock turns off when I’m tired.

Given how much I slept yesterday it’s probably no surprise, but as the day’s gone on so I’ve felt myself tire again.

My eyes feel heavy, a cross somewhere between a flu and hayfever.  Obviously in this day and age, any slight symptom and you worry you might be getting ill, but other than fatigue, I have nothing else.  No cough, no aches, no runny nose.  And it’s not like I’ve been anywhere to see anyone to catch anything off.

I had ME many, many years ago and it does feel a little like that but not as bad.

This evening I literally sat on the sofa for 6 hours and just dozed… which isn’t like me.  And as I stirred from that late into the evening, I found myself feeling tired, which was a totally different feeling.

The only thing I can think is that somehow my body is flushing itself of stress and anxiety.  Depression and other mental illness can be responsible for feeling tired and just watching world news is enough to spike anxiety.  I notice that I’m having a bit of a lockdown low this past week – given that I’m unable to swordfight, and that it’s tornado season and I‘m reminded of adventures of old.

My plan is to just find something to keep myself occupied.  The annoying thing is that the heavy eyes stop me reading.

I guess, given I have no symptoms I’m not going to worry about it too much.  There’s not much going on this week so I’ll give myself permission to doze as much as I like.
