Given that I nearly never made it to level 100 last season, with the launch of Fortnite Chapter 2, Season 3 I’ve made a point of putting some time in today rather than play Warcraft.

I have been playing though.

I’ve been thinking about long term investments. I’ve upped a bunch of professions in recent weeks, but I feel I need some high ticket items in order to give myself a boost. One of those is the Vial of the Sands mount. I hear they sell well because the recipe is hard to get. It’s a rare drop from archaeology and it only drops for Alchemists.

My alchemist has very low archaeology. I need to level it but it’s boring to do so.

So I spent a bit of the time at the weekend leveling whilst watching the Jack Ryan first season on Amazon Prime.

I’m nowhere near the level I need to be to really start farming the recipe and I’ve been told that even when I do, it’s a good 10 hours before it drops for most people.

But I’ve done quite a bit of archaeology this past week and I’ve made good progress on what can otherwise be quite a boring grind.

I also found a website that calculates how much you need to earn a day to get the Bronto mount. You input when you expect the expansion to drop and how much gold you have, and it tells you how much you need to make a day.

I’d seen it briefly before, but what I didn’t know was that it also gave you suggestions on what you can do for raw gold. Given the number of alts I have it reckons I could make about a million a week if I really went at it. I think that’s possible. A few weeks I made over 500,000 and that was only playing in the evenings.

I need to take some holiday as part of my day job so it’s not all left to the end of the year. So if I take 2 weeks off, I might try this and see how I do.

I’ll be burnt out by the end of it, no doubt… but if I’m a couple of million closer then perhaps I can take it easy with archaeology while I’m burnt out.
