I’m trying to be prepared for the next World of Warcraft expansion: Shadowlands. I’d like to go into the expansion and earn some gold so that I’m not in the same situation with future expensive items such as the Brontosaur.
I’m also trying not to burn myself out. Warcraft has always been my go to low spoon game but I can be guilty of going crazy and burning out my enjoyment. Luckily the Xbox and the games I want to play with friends there is acting as a good limiter.
I’ve been doing some research and I think I have a rough plan. As I’ve previously said, I want to level up a number of characters at launch with a view to making a bit of gold in the first few weeks.
But I want to set myself up for longer terms steady profits, and I think the answer is going to be the garrison. I’ve seen a lot of goldmakers get excited about Relics of the Past, and it seems the garrison is a good way to make them.
Back at the end of Dreanor I had a little production line going, where a combination of the shipyard and profession buildings meant I had a near constant stream of materials. I did it on a few characters so all the prep work has been done.
On top of that I have found running Draenor raids solo one of my most profitable activities and you launch a lot of those from the garrison.
However, I have a few characters who garrison’s aren’t as set up. I unlocked it on most characters so I could do the Draenor raids, but I have a handful that don’t have the shipyard.
So I’ve been working on that tonight. I’ve done it in stages, doing all the opening quests on them all before going back and starting the ship building mechanics. The shipyard will need to be levelled up which will take a week or so, but that’s fine as the expansion is still a month off.
When pre-patch launches, I plan to level another batch of characters and will go through the process of unlocking and upgrading their garrisons. Whilst I might not use them all initially, even if I keep them ticking along, when I come to need them they should be ready.
