Unfortunately, leg-geddon has meant I’ve not been able to attend many events this year but I’m hoping to start to change that with a couple of events coming in the next week.

Tomorrow, Saturday 26th October, I will be at the Risc & Global Cafe, 35 – 39 London Street, Reading, RG1 4PS for my local NaNoWriMo group’s Kick Off Party. Most regions are organising meet ups before, during and after NaNoWriMo and they are a great way for you to meet NaNo newbies and veterans as well as an excuse to get some writing done. If you’re in the Berkshire region and looking to take part in NaNoWriMo this year, why not come along, meet other local participants and get inspired for the challenge that lies ahead. Full details can be found in the regional forum on the NaNoWriMo official forums.
Then next week I head down to Brighton to attend the World Fantasy Convention. The event is now sold out, so if you don’t already have a ticket you won’t be able to get in sadly. This is the first time I’ve attended this con and the guest list looks beyond spectacular. I’m not taking part in any panels but will probably be found in the bar. There you might find a group of us playing card games or taking part in friendly beer-fuelled arguments such as “Why Superman is boring”. If you’re attending, feel free to come up and say “hi” (bonus points if you geek out very loudly about the book!).
I hope to see some of you at either event.
