Torghast – The Climb #649

It seems crazy that one of the features I think I’ll most enjoy during Shadowlands is a feature I’ve just not had a lot of time for just yet.

Torghast is Shadowlands’ major end game feature and it’s basically a randomised dungeon that gets progressively harder as you progress. Obviously, over the course of an expansion, player power is going to go up quite a lot so it’s impossible to do more than a few layers currently. Even so, each layer, consisting of 6 floors, takes a good 30-60 minutes and I just don’t have the time right now.

With dailies and gearing up, across two characters, I’m finding it hard to find the time.

Which is a shame, as this sort of content is very similar to what I enjoy when soloing old raids and dungeons.

There is an added twist when compared to other solo instanced content. Take too long on a layer, and the jailer will release an undefeatable creature to chase you down. I want to spend the time, explore, and kill everything but my Death Knight is slow to move and slow to kill things.

I’m sure it’ll get better when I get some better gear. Currently I’m using World Quests to try and find upgrades but with a new week, there’s a whole bunch of weekly tasks that have reset. There’s daily calling to do, weekly quests in The Maw, anima to collect, and a new story quest to unlock if you unlock the other two renown available this week. I might wait as I heard it gives you 750 anima and getting the 1000 you need each week for a renown unlock feels like a lot of work when most World Quest only give you 70 or so.

Of course, I have all week, but the priority is to get my Alliance character ready for raiding. Their gear is still a little low and I’m sure I’m short of the minimum requirement to participate in raids. I see friends who are WAY ahead of me in ilevel and I admit I’m a little jealous.

Admittedly, I’ve leveled two characters, but even so I can’t help but feel I’m not going about this smart and the fact I don’t have time for Torghast is because I’m somehow wasting time. Next week, I’m back to the grind and so I’ll have even less time to play.

And whilst Torghast is one for the weekly ToDo rather than the daily. I am wondering how I’m going to get the two wings done with everything else I need to get done this week.
