Look, I know I should be giving you some writing content, especially with NaNoWriMo going on, but whilst things are ticking along, there’s nothing really interesting to say.  There’s no insights, no bouts of super-productivity or major blocks.  At best, I’m wondering whether my chapter structure needs to be a bit more self-contained but I’m still working out the question to myself so I’m in no position to even start discussing it, let alone answer it.

And yes, I’m playing a lot of Warcraft.  I’ve been listening to the audiobook of Priest of Bones as I do so and absolutely loving it.  Still not finished it yet, so no spoilers please!

My plan for Warcraft always was to level and gear up a whole host of characters and new toons.  I’d leveled up a bunch back in the Spring but had a couple I’d not got round to.  The idea was with the level squish and pre-patch event that would be easier.  But as I like the idea of having an alt army,  I created a load more.

With pre-patch really stretched out over the last month, it’s actually been quite a bit of work to level characters up.  And then gearing wasn’t so simple.

But I’ve done it.  I’d pretty much done all my horde characters last night, but today I decided to work on my new Alliance raiding character, who not only needed leveling up 5 levels but needed complete gear as well.

And I did it all in a day.  I’m super-proud of that.

I still have little things to do.  I want to get all the cloth transmog.  I want to get more bags (although I’ve now got one for each of my main batch of alts) and I wouldn’t say not to more accursed keepsakes as those will rocket in price in the months and years to come.  There’s also the small matter of clearing down bags and quests ready for Shadowlands on Monday.

But…  this is what I’ve been working towards all year and I feel I’m ready.  After missing out on the Bronto, I feel I’ve put in the time to make sure I got everything done.

Now behind that are a load of writer career frustrations, ideas for things I want to write in January, nerves about what I’m working on right now, planning for how I want to approach all this work I want to do once I get through the initial buzz of Shadowlands… but that can all wait for a couple of weeks, as my trip to the Shadowlands is my one and only vacation this year, and I’m going to enjoy it.
