So after what has seemed like an age I can finally talk about a couple of sekrit projects that I’ve been working on, revealing everything about Project Octopus and as a result, uncovering the beans on Project Calamari. Needless to say tentacles feature very prominently in both projects!
And what’s more, it won’t be very long before you’ll be able to enjoy Project Octopus!
Bring on the Cephalopocalypse!
You may remember back in May, I told you about Dark Fiction Magazine picking up my short story, Jetsam, for their audio magazine. The story has just been released as part of their 13th issue read by Dave Probert and featuring some great art by Shock The Badger.
The video from my live video interview with the guys from GeoGearHeads is now live. In it we follow up on my GPSTracklog article on GSAK and go into a little more depth about why this software is brilliant for Geocaching. I don’t think I do too bad considering it’s gone 2am in the morning.
My latest article for GPSTracklog has gone live.
I take a look at the geo-location smartphone game, Munzee, and how you play the game. If you’ve not heard much about it, I explain it all for you. I even went and did a ‘photoshoot’ for this one!
You can check it out HERE
So now it can be revealed.
I’m happy on several levels to be able to announce that I am going to be writing for GPS Tracklog on geocaching. I’m sure many of my geocaching friends will have come across the website before, but for those who haven’t (or don’t cache) GPS Tracklog is the premium consumer GPS weblogs globally. It’s the place sites like Engadget and Gizmodo cite as reference. With up to half a million page views a month it has a huge readership and I’m excited to be bringing geocaching to a wider audience.
The plan is to bring the more technical side of Geocaching to the fore with my articles, and I kick this off with a piece on why you should be using GSAK. Be sure to check it out and if you think there’s anything I should be covering let me know, there or here.
I’m happy to announce that my short story, Jetsam, has been accepted by Dark Fiction Magazine for a future issue. They’ve audio-fied a number of great stories in the past so I’m honoured that Jetsam will be joining the ranks. I’m genuinely excited about an audio version of Jetsam and can’t wait to hear what they do with it.
In the meantime, be sure to check out some of the past issues.
As regular readers know, in my spare time I’m an avid Geocacher. Whilst day job changes and moving have really hit my numbers this year, things are settling down and I hope to hit the big 10,000th find sometime in the near future.
In the meantime though, I’ve penned a piece about the sport / hobby / madness for Andy Remic’s Ultimate Adventure magazine. So if you’ve ever wanted to know more about it, now’s the perfect time. Best of all, the magazine is a free download from the Ultimate Adventure Magazine Website and besides dodgy pictures of me finding geocaches up the top of telegraph poles and under waterfalls, the magazine features other articles, various interviews, pieces of fiction and kit reviews. Be sure to check it out!
