The First Review At The Eloquent Page

elopageEverything seems to be going at a hundred miles an hour at the moment. One minute I’m waiting for the book to come out, the next it’s out, people are reading it, I’ve been interviewed and now reviewed. I don’t think any of it has really sunk in yet and I’m like a listless over-excited kid on a post-xmas comedown. I feel like I want to sleep for a week. Unfortunately, I’m working over xmas.

I’ve been nervously awaiting the first review of The Four Realms. I mean, I know I love the book as does my publisher… but what about other people? I was therefore pleased when The Eloquent Page posted their review and were more than complimentary. I want to quote the whole thing at you but here are a couple of highlights:

Where The Four Realms really succeeds is successfully bringing together elements from fantasy, traditional and cosmic horror into one wonderfully chaotic adventure

and

Faulkner has created a great plot that’s very easy to get caught up in. The cast of characters work well and the world that the author has invented is consistently interesting

You can check out the full review over at The Eloquent Page and I urge you to do so, as they work very hard promoting books and do a great job reviewing them.

I also believe they have incredibly good taste in books! 😉

I Now Have An (Exceptional) Agent

Those who have somehow missed the “worst kept secret of 2015” have asked me if I’ve “stopped the writing thing”.  No, the reason I’ve been quiet is because a LOT has been happening behind the scenes these past couple of months. I’m happy […]

A Quick Update

2015So I’m aware I’ve been incredibly quiet since coming back from storm chasing.  We’re nearly half way through the month and I’ve not posted an update in nearly two weeks. Whilst it’s true to say I haven’t done a lot of writing, I have been really busy.  There’s been some huge things going on in […]

Announcing: Tornado Press

tornadopressIf there’s one writing project that’s fallen behind schedule this year, then it has to be the mysteriously named Project Tornado. My plan was that this would go live in early February, and what are we now?  Mid-March?  Six weeks later. In many ways there’s good reason for this.  This has been me dipping my […]

The Business Strategy

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAWe don’t like to think of writing in terms of a business.  It’s art, and art and business don’t mix!  But the thing I’m continually learning is that in order to be a ‘professional’ writer (and by that I mean someone who makes money from it) you have to walk that tightrope. I’ve had a […]
